How to prepare walls for painting ?

When deciding to refresh the rooms, the first thing that comes to mind is painting the walls. When doing this on our own, we hurry to apply paint directly to the wall and often fail. The new layer of paint is starting to crack, chip off, and the color is not what we expected. Such problems most often appear when we have not properly prepared the walls for painting. Proper preparation of the walls should begin with the removal of various types of thickening from the surface of the wall. This can be done with sandpaper, the thickness of which will be adapted to the condition of the wall. If the old paint layer is cracked, it also needs to be removed so that the painting effect is aesthetic and the new paint layer has good adhesion. After removing unevenness, the wall should be thoroughly cleaned, dusted and then primed. When the primer is completely dry, we can start painting the wall. Skipping any of the stages may mean that all activities will have to be repeated by us.
